We are proud to announce the official launch of the Child Protection Emergency project in the South West Region of Cameroon, funded by the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) through UNICEF. This life-changing initiative, implemented by FIED, aims to address critical social issues affecting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and adolescent girls in select divisions of the region.
The project launch takes place today in Buea, marking a significant milestone in our collective efforts to protect vulnerable children. We extend our gratitude to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) for their support and emphasis on upholding humanitarian principles as our staff, community facilitators, and volunteers carry out their duties.
This project is a pioneering effort, complementing existing education programs established by FIED in these communities. True to our approach, FIED will adopt a community-based strategy to ensure the needs of our beneficiaries are met effectively.
As an organization with a strong commitment to child protection and education, FIED is honored to implement this project, leveraging our experience as a member of the Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) in these critical areas. Together, we look forward to making a lasting impact on the lives of children in the South West Region.
